The Village Foundation is being created to help make sure cost or circumstance doesn't prevent local families from participating, connecting, creating, or feeling supported. We are starting with the community we've already built at The Village — and growing from there.
A milestone
Officially Recognized. Just Getting Started.
The Village Foundation is now officially recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3).
This milestone marks an important step in our mission to expand access to arts education, creative programming, and meaningful community experiences for children and families in Calistoga.
We believe that access to art, connection, and community should not be determined by a family's financial circumstances.
Our work is just beginning.

Raising children takes more than programs. It takes places to belong, people who show up, affordable opportunities, creativity, connection, and practical support. The Village Foundation exists to help fill those gaps for Calistoga families.
Art is where we're starting — not where we're stopping.
The Village art room showed us what happens when children are simply given access: materials, encouragement, space, and people who believe they belong there.

Starting right here
It starts with one room.
The Village art room is already open to children who come through our doors.
Paint. Paper. Glue. Clay. Scissors. Markers. Materials to experiment with — and a place where there isn't one “right” way to make something.
We started by asking how we could give more children access to art. That question got bigger.
How can we make sure more local families have access to the experiences, community, creativity, and support that help families thrive? That's what The Village Foundation is being built to do.

Sometimes the biggest thing a child makes in the art room isn't the piece they bring home.
It's confidence.
We've watched children begin an activity unsure of themselves — only to finish proudly talking about what they created.
The Village Foundation exists so more children can have that moment.
Our first Foundation gathering
A little sushi roll. A very big reason to gather.
On December 2, The Village Foundation will celebrate its official debut alongside the launch of Rita Marie Conaty's children's book, The Little Sushi Roll Who Found Her Home.
An evening built around story, creativity, community and giving — bringing together the people helping us build a stronger village for Calistoga families.
Guests will experience a reading of the book, children's art, community gathering and a few special surprises throughout The Village.
